Premiere "Zoomers"
Filmed in Salamanca during the summer of 2024, it featured the participation of some 800 extras hired in the city.
The project represented a new challenge for the Salamanca City Council in terms of filming, as it involved the work of different municipal areas.
The series, produced by Dynamo, will premiere on the Prime Video platform for Spain, Andorra, and Portugal on October 3.
The Congress Palace will host the screening of the first three chapters of the series “Zoomers” on September 30, filmed in Salamanca during the summer of 2024, which featured the participation of some 800 extras hired in the city.
The screening will take place from 8:00 p.m. in the Palace's smaller hall, and invitations to attend can be picked up starting this Friday at the Tourist Information Office in Plaza Mayor. Produced by Dynamo for Prime Video, the series had its first presentation at the Vitoria International Television Festival (FesTVal), where it was very well received by the public and critics; at the end of the screening, viewers applauded for more than 15 minutes. The entire cast of the series attended the event, as well as the director and producers.
In Salamanca, the chapters will be presented by actor Biel Rossell Pelfort, and screenwriters Federico Mayorca and Guillermo Van Drei.
The project represented a new challenge for the Salamanca City Council in terms of filming, as it involved the work of different areas, including Tourism, Maintenance, Urban Planning, Environment, Civil Engineering, Culture, Lighting, Administrative Police, and Local Police.
Additionally, the production company hired supplementary technical staff from the job banks of the Audiovisual Communication degrees at the Universities of Salamanca and Pontificia, which allowed students from these study centers to have their first job opportunity.
The series, with six half-hour episodes, focuses on Generation Z and all the events they have had to face in recent years: pandemics, climate change, various crises… all before finishing their studies. It combines black humor with generational drama to portray, from within, the contradictions of growing up in an era marked by uncertainty.
Directed by Oscar Pedraza from Zamora, it stars Biel Rossell as Javi, Azul Guaita as Martina, Berta Castañé as Lorena, Itziar Atienza as Marcelo, Adrián Luque as Edu, Cosmo González as Andrés, João Bettencourt as João, Rubén Fernández as Dani, Luna Bengoechea as Carla, Héctor de Miguel as Fernando.
Zoomers follows the life of Javi, an 18-year-old who, after a personal tragedy, views the world in a unique way. In addition to him, we will meet a diverse group of students who will discover how to navigate the challenges posed by their arrival at university: new friendships, awkward situations, love or sex, while coexisting in the bustling environment of a student residence hall. The series offers an honest look at a generation born with new technologies and sharp humor that paves an innovative path towards the future.
Zoomers will premiere on the Prime Video platform for Spain, Andorra, and Portugal on October 3.
