Shopping
Shopping in Salamanca means taking a piece of the city with you. You can find everything in the more than 4,000 establishments spread across the capital of Tormes: clothes, footwear, accessories, jewelry, souvenirs, gastronomy, local crafts.
The commercial area is located on the exit routes north from the Plaza Mayor. In the vicinity of Toro and Zamora streets, you will find franchises, signature stores, small businesses, everything within your reach so you can shop while strolling peacefully through pedestrian streets with golden stone buildings. A pleasant walk where you might encounter a street musician and, if it coincides, also a book fair in the Plaza Mayor, or a craft and pottery fair in the Plaza de los Bandos.
The city's neighborhoods are a good opportunity to feel the the pulse of local commerce.
In the area located between the Plaza and the cathedrals, towards the river, you will find souvenir shops and a multitude of traditional Charro craft shops, from jewelers to saddleries. Also gourmet stores where you can buy cured meats and hams with Guijuelo Designation of Origin. These and other products from the province can be found in the Central Market, a beautiful modernist building with great activity during the morning.
Stay alert because during your visit you will also discover some old shops, with century-old window displays, such as Pastelería La Madrileña or Farmacia Urbina.
The 'Saldecompras' app offers information and discounts, integrating local commerce with the tourist offer. This app allows tourists and visitors to discover and shop in local businesses, access municipal markets, receive personalized offers, and participate in promotions.
