FIRST AUDIOVISUAL CONFERENCES SALAMANCA FILM COMMISSION. «Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. Stories to not forget»

They will take place on September 29 and 30 and October 2 and 3, with interesting activities such as forums, a screening of the feature film “Urubú” and a dramatized reading of unpublished texts by “Chicho”

New creators, such as Rodrigo Cortés, Manuel Sanabria, Miguel Martín or Carlos Urrutia will talk about the influence that the figure of the Uruguayan filmmaker has had on their works

The Exhibition and Congress Palace will host the “Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. Stories to not forget” conference on September 29 and 30 and October 2 and 3. Organized by the audiovisual promotion department Salamanca Film Commission, together with the company Prointel, a series of activities have been programmed that will cover the work of one of the great geniuses of Spanish audiovisuals: “Chicho” Ibáñez Serrador, father of modern Spanish television.

This is a complementary activity to the exhibition with the same title that can be enjoyed at the Museum of Commerce and Industry.

Free invitations for the programmed activities can be obtained: online, starting today, through: www.salamancaymas.es or physically, starting at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, at the following locations: Salamanca Tourist Information Office (Plaza Mayor nº32), Congress and Exhibition Palace of Castilla y León and Museum of Commerce and Industry.

To showcase the life and work of “Chicho,” professionals who worked for years alongside Ibáñez Serrador will be featured, such as Mayra Gómez Kemp, Fedra Lorente (La Bombi) or José Carabias. In addition, new creators, such as Rodrigo Cortés, Manuel Sanabria, Miguel Martín or Carlos Urrutia will talk about the influence that the figure of the Uruguayan filmmaker has had on their works.

Furthermore, other aspects of “Chicho”'s work will be discussed, such as his work in the horror genre, where he was a pioneer in Spain, with television series like Historias para no dormir, Mis terrores favoritos or feature films like La Residencia or Quién puede matar a un niño.

The events will conclude with the screening of the horror feature film “Urubú,” directed and produced by Alejandro Ibáñez, which has won numerous awards at national and international festivals such as the GreenFestv in Manchester or Fantarifa.

The dramatized reading of different unpublished texts by Narciso Ibáñez, in which the actor Carlos Urrutia will direct the Salamanca-based theater company LaBulé, will bring these conferences to a close.

Participants: Mayra Gómez Kemp, Fedra Lorente, José Carabias and Miguel Martín.
Mayra Gomez Kemp: Actress, singer, presenter and icon in the history of Spanish television. Presenter for six years of Un, Dos, Tres... Responda otra vez, a job for which she received numerous awards, such as the TP de Oro for best Presenter.
Fedra Lorente: Actress and creator of one of the most beloved characters from Un, Dos, Tres… Responda otra vez, “La Bombi”. She also participated in the filming of the television series Historias para no dormir.
José Carabias: Actor with 60 years of profession. He is the only actor who has worked with 3 generations of the Ibáñez family. He has worked in all audiovisual fields such as theater, television or cinema, accumulating more than 70 works, in addition, he combines voice acting, his most recent characters being Smee in the Netflix Spin-Off World of Winx or Zozo in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Miguel Martín: Actor, presenter, showman and stand-up comedian, who became known as a reporter on Caiga, quien caiga, from there, he has worked on different television programs such as Sopa de ganso or Todo va bien, in addition to collaborating on radio programs such as Anda ya from Los 40 Principales.

Participants: Rodrigo Cortés, Joseba Fiestras, Manuel Sanabria and Alejandro Ibáñez.
Rodrigo Cortés: Director, screenwriter, producer, composer and actor. His latest work is the direction of one of the chapters of the reboot of Historias para no Dormir. La broma. His extensive career includes more than 60 awards at national and international festivals and he has worked with professionals in the sector such as Uma Thurman, Robert de Niro, Ryan Reynolds or Sigourney Weaver.
Joseba Fiestras: Director of FesTVal, a benchmark festival in the world of European television. He is one of the most influential professionals in the production of series and products dedicated to the small screen.
Manuel Sanabria: Producer, director and screenwriter. He has worked on series such as No te puedes esconder, Rabia and Historias para no Dormir. He made the leap to high-level directing thanks to the direction and production of La Fiesta, a feature film whose technical and artistic team was composed of former students of the Pontifical University of Salamanca.
Alejandro Ibáñez: Son of Narciso Ibáñez Serrador, he works to keep his father's legacy alive; he has produced and directed the feature film Urubú and the reboot of the television series Historias para no dormir, which will soon premiere on Amazon Prime.

The Salamanca Tourism Society, through the Salamanca Film Commission, in collaboration with the Congress Palace, the Museum of Commerce and Industry and the LaBulé Theater Company, organizes these conferences thanks to the efforts of Alejandro Ibáñez, son of Ibáñez Serrador and owner of the production company Prointel, who in his endeavor to keep his father's legacy alive has managed to bring all these professionals to Salamanca completely free of charge and selflessly, in addition to freely providing all the material that can be seen at the Museum of Commerce in the exhibition “Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. History to not forget.”
