Las Batuecas as the setting for a documentary

The Madrid production company New Atlantis will be filming today in Las Batuecas a significant part of the documentary “Desiertos” (Deserts), a work about spiritual and cultural deserts that will feature the Bolarque Monastery in Guadalajara and, in Salamanca, the Monastery of the Discalced Carmelites, Santo Desierto de San José del Monte. The four-person film crew will show the way of life within this monastery, a place of meditation and spiritual refuge. Salamanca Film Commission has been responsible for carrying out the necessary arrangements to facilitate the production work, permit processing, and location scouting.
