Prince Tamino is pursued by a giant serpent and ventures into the forest trying to escape, but has unknowingly entered the realm of the Queen of the Night. There he will reach an agreement with the queen to try to win her daughter's hand in exchange for freeing her from the abduction by Sarastro.
Tamino, accompanied by the bird-catcher Papageno, sets out to save his beloved; however, once he arrives in Sarastro's kingdom, he realizes that reality is different and decides to stay there by his beloved's side and away from the queen. To stay and belong to the temple of the wise, he will have to pass a series of trials that he will successfully overcome. Finally, the two lovers will unite forever while his evil mother will be definitively defeated.
