In an adjoining garden, behind some columns, Beatriz Galindo "la latina", the abbess of the Convent of Santa María and the novice, Sister Isabel, try to follow the relección, "in these times of the Lord, when it is not well received for ladies to dedicate themselves to endeavors other than those imposed by fathers and husbands".
