Salamanca Film Comission

Salamanca hosts a documentary by the British newspaper ‘The Independent’

The British newspaper ‘The Independent’ traveled to Salamanca on November 11th and 12th to film a documentary about the city. The newspaper is one of the highest-circulating in the United Kingdom; in fact, in 2004, its sales exceeded 250,000 copies. Every Saturday, it is accompanied by a travel supplement, to which an audiovisual piece is added for the digital edition. The video aims to showcase life and the city under the title ‘48 hours in Salamanca’.

The technical team, consisting of three people, filmed images of the Salmantine capital. The well-known British presenter Simon Calder was in charge of the audiovisual production. They visited the city's most characteristic places such as the Cathedral, the University, the Plaza Mayor…, all framed within the unique streets of the historic center. They also wanted to explore the nightlife and student life with a visit to the city's bars. Salamanca Film Commission was present throughout the pre-production and filming process, assisting them with permit processing, location scouting, city information, logistical support, and unforeseen events.
