Getting Here

Salamanca is located in western Spain, within the autonomous community of Castilla y León, 214 kilometers from Madrid. If you're traveling from abroad, the easiest way is to fly to Madrid (Barajas Airport) and then take a bus (MonBus) or a train (RENFE); both services depart frequently. The journey from Madrid to Salamanca takes approximately two hours. If you're coming from Portugal or France, you can travel by bus or train.

Highways A-62 and A-66 will lead you to the city.
To get there from Madrid, you need to follow highway A-50.
If you arrive in Salamanca by car, you will find different options for parking and convenient access to the city center. You can choose between public parking, underground parking, regulated parking zones, other parking areas located outside the ORA zone and commuter parking

By Bus

There are regular bus lines that, with their corresponding connections, allow you to reach Salamanca from any Spanish or European city. Companies like Flix Bus or Alsa offer bus connections to Portugal (Porto, Coimbra, and Lisbon).
There is a direct bus line operated by Monbus from Madrid-Barajas airport to Salamanca. The stop at Barajas is located in Terminal 1 of the airport, in the parking lot in front of the arrivals hall; there is also one in T4. Tickets for this service and timetables can be checked on their website www.monbus.es, at usual ticket offices, and within the airport itself, at the El Corte Inglés travel agency, located on the first floor of T1. From Madrid-Barajas airport, to reach Madrid's South Bus Station (C/ Méndez Álvaro), the best option is to take metro line nº 8 to Nuevos Ministerios station and then line nº 6 to Méndez Álvaro. BY TRAIN

If you prefer to travel by train, RENFE offers daily connections to Madrid and all its onward services. To get from Madrid Barajas Airport to Madrid's Chamartín Train Station, you need to take Metro Line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios station, and then change to Line 10, which will take you to Chamartín. Alvia train services operate on the electrified Salamanca – Medina del Campo line, allowing the journey between Madrid and Salamanca to be completed in 1 hour and 36 minutes, reducing the current travel time (2 h 39 min) by 63 minutes.
