Palominos Street

8 minutes
Street with beautiful views of the Clerecía
Apparently, wood pigeons were frequently found along the slope, which is why it adopted the name "Palombino" (young wild pigeons). Over time, this transformed into "Palomino" and was pluralized to "Palominos". It is mentioned in 13th-century documents as "cal de Palombino", and Gil Gonzalez Dávila named it "Calle de Palomino" in 1606. The street lost its upper section in the late 19th century with the layout of Rúa Nueva.
