Origin and History
The building's origin dates back to the 15th century, when it was a palace. In 1591, it was sold to the Order of the Trinitarios Calzados, who transformed it into an important convent. Following Mendizábal's Disentailment in the 19th century, the property had various uses, from an inn to a warehouse. In 1877, Saint Cándida María de Jesús, founder of the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus, received the building in usufruct to establish a school and residence for girls.
