Tribute to the Charro Drummer

In 1986, the Salamanca City Council commissioned Agustín Casillas to create a sculpture to pay tribute to the Charro drummers. The artist created this work, which depicts Nicomedes de Castro “Medes”, the drummer from Villamayor and a personal friend of Agustín Casillas. The bronze work is located in Plaza de Baleares, in the Pizarrales neighborhood. 31 drummers from the province gathered for the inauguration.
