Tormes Viewpoint
20 minutes
The Tormes viewpoint is one of those corners of Salamanca that the people of Salamanca themselves hold with special affection. From here, the views combine historical architecture with the life of an authentic neighborhood, one that doesn't usually appear in brochures but defines the soul of the city. A place to stop, look slowly and understand that Salamanca is also this.
This viewpoint now has its Selfie point, so you can take a marked and verified memory from one of the most genuine enclaves of the route.

The El Tormes neighborhood developed mainly during the second half of the 20th century as a consequence of Salamanca's urban growth towards the southern bank of the Tormes River. Until then, this area was occupied by orchards, agricultural land, and small farms linked to the fertile river plain, a landscape that for centuries supplied agricultural products to the city.
The residential expansion experienced by Salamanca between the 1960s and 1980s prompted the urbanization of these lands. Housing blocks, new streets, and facilities were built to accommodate the population increase. Among the main streets of the neighborhood, Diego Pisador street stands out, named in honor of the 16th-century Salamancan composer and vihuelist Diego Pisador, author of one of the most important musical treatises of the Spanish Renaissance.
