Salamanca is one of the best sets you can find. Large and small directors have discovered amongst the city’s hidden corners locations that can be used as a backdrop for battles, falling in and out of love, murder mystery, homicide, chance encounters… in short, stories that have taken spectators to a world full of emotion.
Salamanca has always been a city on the move, birthplace to film makers who have managed to reflect the life and feelings of the Salamancans, Basilio Martín Patino, Chema de la Peña, Gabriel Velásquez… are just some of the thousands of examples of people who, through the film lens, have portrayed this city as a world stage: Milos Forman with “Los fantasmas de Goya” or Pete Travis with “Vantage Point”, whose world premiere was also in Salamanca.
As a World Heritage City, it would seem somewhat selfish not to share the beauty of Salamanca with others, and we believe that image is a necessary vehicle through which to transmit the cultural principles and cultural heritage assets of our city, and this is why the city is committed to assisting with all professionals from the audiovisual sector.
For the above reasons, the Salamanca Tourist Board would live to welcome the audiovisual industry, offer it its support and we hope that our city is able to accommodate the needs of all film professionals.
